The Adjustment Bureau - Movie Review

"George Nolfi Who?" colleague said, when the final credits roll, "the Bureau's site," quick, sure the movie to find and keep love across time and place. Good question. If enabled the fates - or even, as in this movie very enjoyable, men in suits gray and authorization Fedora's, and "things go according to plan" - you should be hearing more of Mr. Nolfi, writer turned director, who has brightened up the season joking mix science fiction, metaphysics and old-fashioned romance fluttery.

Matt Damon, who at this stage of his career is hardly a great wrong, play by David Norris, Democratic Brooklyn boy, and a favorite of the New York Senate race, where the young ear Robert F. Kennedy in each broad grin. Set here, the story opens, David sprinting toward the most unlikely victory, soundtrack boom and rapid editing pace mirroring the exuberance of their own great expectations. It is all going so well until the tabloid published quite embarrassing if it sick old photo. Photo torpedoes his campaign, but just before the race up, he meets Elise (Emily Blunt), a dancer who led him by innocently with twists twisted Rabbit Hole.

A broad picture of the rabbit hole provided "team adjustment" to the story of Philip K. Dick short, this film is credited to your motivation. First published in 1954, focuses on one of Ed Fletcher, Salary man, comes to work, says the world is temporarily removed and ash gray, by the people. In short, mundane, frightening, so he understands that his life - a reality - has been corrected because
of the mystery men running very specialized company. Written Dick characterized un-pretty, earns a blunt style, the story of a punch from the idea that the known world, a world of appearances, soluble touch of a finger. He collapses into dust.

Mr. Nolfi has been selected, uh, changes to the original story - David, the world will not fall in a row, it stops the clock stuck - although the biggest change coming to metaphysical speculation comes existential crisis. After bombing out of the political game, David will be the business with his old campaign manager, Charlie (Michael Kelly, who could be Eliot Spitzer's cousin). Then one day David stumbles into a strange room full of colleagues and parking difficult to move the guests, some wearing black suits, others wearing more black threatening. He tries to escape, but not interlopers, whom tells Richardson (John Slattery) us that the meeting Elise, David did not follow their plan. As any sensible person, he is responsible for trying to run again, but it is not a plan either.

Elise accidental detour that forces downwards David no strangers "to please a result, the story of an awkward, held niftily a cat and mouse chase scenes, where some of the amusing creative geography. But David is as much a prisoner escaped and Elise neglecting strangers, and it is also caught between the forces of seemingly contradictory. his ambition and his heart In other words, despite the title, the film is less freak-out about the nature of life ( Dick wrote the world's Ashes), and more fight for love, most of the information (in movies), if appropriate, the battle over whether or. kiss and kiss, or running (well, almost), the Mr. Damon and Ms. Blunt later this love is clearly on the race.

If not Mr. Nolfi go deep into the "Control Bureau" drilling down, if it happens (he prefers to entertain you pain), he skates, blue-gray surfaces are confident in his film. In addition to its likable lead, self-confident and sexy with big troika Mr. Slattery, Anthony Mackie, and Terence Stamp, Mr. Nolfi to keep the film balanced openness and self-conscious pleasure, rarely faltering tone. Their cat cool hats and tailored suits, it seems Mr. Mackie, Mr. Slattery and Mr. Stamp as if they're taking a break AMC Mr. Slattery's show, "Mad Men" (or extras in "North by Northwest"). Because Mr. Damon and Ms. Blunt able to give you the world, as Mr. Nolfi never takes his eyes off the human stakes.

One reason for the film as Mr. Nolfi has attracted similar to the work of Philip K.'s thoughts Dick 'on the luxury of un-embellished writing style leaves them room for their own stories visually. His first directing, Mr. Nolfi, whose screenwriting include credits "Ocean's Twelve" and "The Bourne Ultimatum" The guide turned to the classics, especially "Orphée" by Jean Cocteau with a sublime 1949 version of the myth Orpheus and Eurydice. From costumes goggled Richardson henchmen, as David says Elise hold of him, so they can go through the portals guest, Mr. samples Nolfi "Orphée" in favor, please cinephiles pleasure layer to keep the mood up. As it turns out, is not dead adult love in Hollywood - it's only been on extended leave.

"Control Office" is rated PG-13 (Parents strongly cautioned). relatively strong language and mild violence such as car accidents.
